How many types of hotels

what is hotel :- 

                    A hotel is an establishment provides meal, Accommodation, and other services for travelers and tourists on a short term basic facility, that is hotel.


Types of Hotels :-

  • Motel
  • Rotels
  • Boatel / Flotels
  • Lotel
  • Transit hotel
  • Resort hotel
  •    Hotel ( Commercial )

Motel :- A drive - in hotel . Guest cannot stay for more then 3 - 4 days . it has parking and garage facilities . generally situated on highway .

Rotel :- It is a hotel or restaurant on wheels . E . g . Great Indian Rover ( I.R.C.T.C ), Palace - on wheels ( Rajasthan Government ) , Orient Express (  Europe ).

Boatel :- A restaurant or hotel on a boat in water . e.g. houseboat, ship , cruise .

Lotel :-  A hotel with a helipad . e.g . Burj al arab (Dubai ) .

Transit Hotel:- A hotel near the railway station, airports, and bus terminus.

Hotel Commercial:- Has a lot of facilities. Generally, businessmen stay here but tourists also

Hotel Outlets in food and beverage :- 

 Coffee Shop :-   
                         * In formal atmosphere                        
                         * Round the clock service 
                         * Fast &  Pre - plated service 
                         * Crockery & Cutlery used is inexpensive 
                         * Generally Stoneware  .

Room Service:- 
                          
                         * Round the clock service    
                         * Crockery & cutlery used is inexpensive.                     
                         * Food is served in the rooms to the residents on a tray or a trolley.

 Speciality Restaurant:- 

                          * formal atmosphere 
                          * The food served is of a particular region 
                          * It has an elaborate service according to the type of food serviced 
                          * Service takes longer time 
                             * Crockery & cutlery used is expensive ( generally of silver ) 
                          * It is open only for lunch & dinner.

Banquets:-

                          * For those who want to hold private parties like marriage, reception, birthday parties 
                          * have facilities using banquet hall 
                          *  A buffet is laid & charges are as per the menu.

Bar:- 

                        *  Alcoholic and non - alcoholic are served here 
                        * There is a bar with light stools, for those who want to sit at the  counter 
                        * Snacks like peanuts, wafers, etc are served. 

Discotheque:-

                         * This is a restaurant having recorded music 
                         * It is meant for the couple who like to dance 
                         * It can have a live band also 
                         * There is a bar which serves drinks and snacks only 
                         * It is open from evening to midnight.

Night Culb:- 

                         * Open at night from 10 PM to 2 AM 
                         * Dinner is served, and there are live performances, dance & cabarets 
                         * A bar is tighter ,the decor is lavish and service elaborate 
                         * There is a live band and it is generally preferred that people come in formal clothes.

Dinning Room:- 

                         * This is found in smaller hotels ( Resorts, Motels etc.) 
                         * It is generally residents, but an outsider may be allowed 
                         * Fixed meals are served at fixed timings .

Pastry Shop:- 

                          * Here bakery and confectionary items are sold like bread, cakes and biscuit 
                          * They are sold from a counter and the items can packed and taken out .

Executive  Dining Room ( E.D.R ):-

                          * This is meant for executives meals as per their entitlement 
                          * A buffet is laid and everyone helps themselves. 

Staff Canteen:- 

                          * Here food for the staff is prepared and served at nominal charges against coupons 
                          * There is a fixed menu that varies from day to day, it is self-service.
