Bar:-
A bar is a licensed place selling all kind of alcoholic beverages to the customers. Bars are found in hotel , resorts , clubs ,casinos ,and many such establishment and they can also be operated as independent units . A bar is one of the key revenue generating areas of the food and beverage (F&B) department of the hotel industry. The main function of bar is to Steve alcoholic drinks in appropriate glassware according to the customers preference .
Types of bar :-
- Pub:- It is a word derived from ‘ public house’ which is licensed to sell alcoholic beverages. Pubs mainly serve all kinds of beer along with other alcoholic drinks.
- Lounge bar:- Lounge is an area meant for relaxing which is normally located near the reception area. Some establishments have lounge bar which serves all kinds of alcoholic beverages to the guests at the lounge . Lounge bar is often seen in airport's , clubs , casinos ,luxury hotel ,ship ,etc.
- Wine bar :- wine bar offer an wide rang of wine some of which available by the glass . Usually a limited range of beer and spirits will be available also often a wine bar will be combined with a smart casual restaurant .
- Cocktail bar :- The cocktail bar serves all kind of cocktail along with other alcoholic drink . It may be found in airport , casinos ,hotel ,ships ,etc . These outlets are sometimes open only in the evening time and they usually offer tray service as well as Bar service .
- Night Club :- Night club bars are found in night club and discos they serve cocktail and mixed drinks as well as range of beer both local and imported .
- Mini bar :- Mini bar are found in hotel bed room where a range of miniature bottles of spirit ,half bottle of wine ,a few beers , mixture etc , are available for the guest convenience .
- Foyer bars :- Superior residential hotel often serve drinks in the foyer there is usually Table service of drink available even if there is no bar as such in the hotel foyer .
- Dispense bar :- It is the bar attached to a restaurant , serving alcoholic drinks to the guests in the restaurant during their meal time . The stock may be either collected from the main bar or from the cellar . The dispense bar has a minimum stock of drinks that may be suitable for aperitif ,to accompany the dishes offered , and as digestives .
- Club bar :- Club bars found in some Forums and Hotel ,are suitable for use by clubs or special interest groups and sometimes reserved for their meeting ,do not confuse a hotel club bar with the bars in registered club which are a different matter all together.
- Banquet bar :- This is temporary bar set up in banquet suite to serve alcoholic drinks during a specific function. The type and quantity of drinks to be served are generally predetermined at the time of booking the function.
- Sports bar :- a bar catering especially to sports fans and typically containing several televisions and often sports memorabilia.
